WAZA Welcomes New Member – SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium

The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) is pleased to announce that SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium has joined WAZA as a new Institution Member.
SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium’s mission focuses on marine conservation and education. Through engaging and immersive experiences, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium inspire visitors to care for the oceans and marine life.

WAZA CEO Dr Martín Zordan said, ‘We are thrilled to welcome SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium to the WAZA community. This year, our annual conference will be held at Sydney, and I am confident that many of our members will appreciate the chance to visit our new member institution especially as we endeavour to incorporate more aquariums to our community.’
The aquarium showcases the rich diversity of Australia’s underwater habitats, featuring over 300 species and 4,000 individual marine creatures including Pig the dugong, three species of penguins, jellyfish, marine turtles, and a variety of fish and sharks.
