WAZA Welcomes New Member – ZSL's Whipsnade Zoo

The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) is proud to welcome Whipsnade Zoo, in the UK, as a new Institution Member.
Whipsnade Zoo is part of ZSL (Zoological Society of London), a science-driven conservation charity dedicated to restoring wildlife in the UK and globally. Their vision centres on a thriving wildlife world, with a purpose to inspire, inform and empower people to join their wildlife protection and restoration mission.
WAZA CEO Dr Martín Zordan said, “Whipsnade Zoo’s impressive work in species recovery, habitat restoration and conservation education makes them a valuable member of the WAZA community. Their success in reintroducing Extinct in the Wild species and their focus on empowering future conservationists align with WAZA’s mission.”
Whipsnade Zoo’s teams of conservationists, scientists, technicians and community specialists are active in over 70 countries. The zoo serves as a conservation hub, supporting breeding programmes for endangered species.
