The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) is pleased to welcome a new Corporate Member to the global zoo and aquarium community – Saudi Entertainment Ventures Company.

Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN) was established by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) to serve as the investment, development, and operation arm for the entertainment sector. SEVEN partners with some of the world’s most recognisable brands to build world-class entertainment infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. The new entertainment ecosystem developed by SEVEN will include 21 entertainment destinations located across 14 cities, supporting PIF’s strategy to develop the local entertainment and tourism sectors.

WAZA CEO Dr Martín Zordan said, ‘WAZA is pleased to welcome SEVEN to the global zoo and aquarium community. The organisation’s emphasis on raising awareness about the importance of protecting the oceans and marine environment is vital. As WAZA works towards becoming more representative in its membership, welcoming new members from Saudi Arabia is a crucial step forward.’

SEVEN’s Aquarium Attraction strategy is to design aquatic attractions to showcase the stunning marine habitats of the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea, alongside the world’s oceans, to raise awareness of the importance of protecting these delicate ecosystems for generations to come.
