WAZA Welcomes New Member - The Green Planet Dubai

The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) is pleased to welcome The Green Planet Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as a new Institution Member.
The Green Planet Dubai is the region’s only indoor tropical rainforest, offering immersive experiences that connect visitors with the biodiversity and importance of rainforest ecosystems. Through close-up encounters with animals, innovative exhibit design, and inclusive educational programmes, the institution aims to inspire empathy for wildlife and encourage positive action for conservation.
WAZA CEO Dr Martín Zordan said, “The Green Planet Dubai is a distinctive institution within the region, offering meaningful opportunities for public engagement while advancing shared priorities in animal welfare, conservation, and education. We are pleased to welcome them to WAZA.”
The Green Planet Dubai continues to expand its role as a conservation hub, engaging the public through collaborative research and programmes that promote sustainable practices and biodiversity awareness.
Asma Al Hosani, Associate Director at The Green Planet Dubai, said, “Joining WAZA reinforces The Green Planet Dubai’s commitment to immersive conservation education. As the region’s only indoor rainforest, we champion awareness, biodiversity, and action to protect our planet’s natural wonders.”
The Green Planet Dubai is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).
