BIAZA/ICCCG Giraffe Behaviour Workshop 2025

This specialist workshop will offer participants the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and practical skills to enhance giraffe care and welfare in zoo settings. The programme will combine expert-led lectures with interactive, hands-on sessions covering a range of topics including:

  • Giraffe training and behaviour
  • Hoof care techniques
  • Environmental enrichment strategies
  • Leadership and problem-solving
  • Enclosure design and management to support natural foraging and reduce undesired behaviours

The workshop will be beneficial to both returning delegates and those attending for the first time. Returning participants will have the chance to reinforce and build on previous learning, while newcomers will be introduced to the latest thinking and practical tools in giraffe husbandry and welfare.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s International Centre for the Care and Conservation of Giraffe will deliver this second workshop in collaboration with BIAZA and Behaviour Works.
