AIZA Congress 2026

The AIZA Congress 2026 will take place from 11 to 14 March in Lagos, Portugal, with Zoo de Lagos as the host partner.
Under the theme ‘Committed to Animal Welfare’, the congress will continue the line of work initiated at last year’s congress in Granada, further exploring the evolving standards and commitments in animal welfare promoted by AIZA.
The programme will focus on current developments, shared experiences and practical approaches that strengthen animal welfare across member institutions.
Registrations will close on 27 February.
The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) is the global alliance of regional associations, national federations, zoos and aquariums, dedicated to the care and conservation of animals and their habitats around the world.
