The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) is pleased to announce that Fondation des Amis du Parc Omega has joined WAZA as a new Affiliate Member.
Located at Parc Omega in Canada, Fondation des Amis du Parc Omega provides shelter and care for injured or orphaned wild animals, focusing on the conservation of species at risk, both within the park and throughout Quebec and Canada.
The Foundation prioritises education and research in its mission. It offers educational visits to Parc Omega and supports scholarships in environmental studies, biodiversity, and veterinary care.
‘WAZA is delighted to welcome Fondation des Amis du Parc Omega as an Affiliate Member. Their focus on wildlife rehabilitation and commitment to education and research brings valuable expertise to our global network.’ said Martín Zordan, WAZA CEO.
Fondation des Amis du Parc Omega is looking to expand its conservation efforts internationally by connecting with global conservation experts, sharing best practices, and engaging in collaborative projects.
‘We are excited to join WAZA, an association that naturally aligns with our Foundation’s mission, dedicated to supporting research and conservation while raising public awareness about biodiversity and current challenges. We believe that by collaborating with other WAZA member institutions, we can make significant progress in the conservation of species and habitats.’ said Billie-Prisca Giroux, Director of Conservation and Education at Fondation des Amis du Parc Omega.
Fondation des Amis du Parc Omega is also a member of Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA).
