WAZA Welcomes New Member – The Scientific Center – Kuwait (TSCK)

The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) is pleased to welcome a new Institution Member to the global zoo and aquarium community- The Scientific Center – Kuwait (TSCK).
Established in 2000, TSCK is the first scientific centre and aquarium the Gulf Region. TSCK has since become one of the most visited attractions in Kuwait and is home to a diverse collection of native marine life, and a variety of fishes.
Dr Martín Zordan, WAZA CEO said, ‘WAZA is pleased to welcome TSCK as a member. We strive to be a truly diverse membership association and with members in the Gulf Region, welcome the unique perspectives and experiences that TSCK will bring, which will surely benefit our wider membership.’
Through collaborations and partnerships with WAZA members, TSCK aims to enhance their programmes and initiatives and promote their mission of marine conservation and environmental sustainability in Kuwait and beyond
General Manager, Msaed Al Yaseen, said, ‘By joining WAZA, The Scientific Center in Kuwait strives to embrace its commitment to uphold the values of environmental conservation, education, and the preservation of ecosystems. Its mission is to encourage a collective sense of responsibility through actively engaging the local community to protect the environment and build a sustainable future following Kuwait’s Carbon Neutral 2050 goal.’
TSCK has been accredited by and is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).
