We are looking for a new member to join the Department of «Animals & Conservation» effective immediately, as a:

zookeeper carnivore/ungulates

This full-time position gives you the unique opportunity to work with different taxa. You will be responsible for the husbandry of big cats, bears, wolfs, deer, antelopes and a variety of birds. Besides the standard activity as animal care taker we place great value on enrichment and animal training. You will be member of a team of 12 wildlife specialists reporting to the head of the section «Zoolino Huf- und Raubtiere».

Your tasks

  • Care for carnivore species (lion, tiger, snow leopard, wolf and spectacled bears), ungulates (deer,
    various antelopes and pets) and birds (cranes, Egyptian vultures and others)
  • Environmental enrichment and animal training
  • Support for veterinary treatments
  • Setting up enclosures as well as minor repairs and/or maintenance work

What you bring

  • Experience of practically managing carnivore species is essential; experience in managing ungulates
    and birds is beneficial
  • Experience and creativity in training and enrichment of wildlife
  • High resilience, strong personality and a high level of safety awareness
  • You are a team player, open-minded, committed and motivating personality
  • Good observation and perception skills
  • Willingness to acquire basic German language skills
