Director of Conservation, Animal Health and Research — Aquarium du Québec

Reporting to the Aquarium du Québec director, you will be responsible for conservation, animal health, and research at Aquarium du Québec. As Director of Conservation, Animal Health, and Research you will work closely with the other Aquarium managers to ensure that the overall offer is in line with the organization’s mission and meets customers’ needs. You will be responsible for the progress and success of the teams under your direction.

This position requires the ability to motivate and empower the members of your team. You will be responsible for the collections management policy and the sharing of expertise with other institutions and organizations (e.g., in the areas of science and the environment). You will be the Aquarium du Québec director’s main ally and act as spokesperson for all issues related to the collections.

You will work with your team to come up with general guidelines for the entire animal collection and how it is presented, as well as the animal management plan, including acquisition, disposition, reproduction, social groups, transfer, etc. You will also be responsible for monitoring professional licenses and accreditations to ensure they are current.


• Master’s in biology or equivalent
• Eight years of relevant experience
• Outstanding management experience
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
• Fluency in French and English

Working conditions

This is a regular management-level position.
