Purpose Summary

The Minnesota Zoo is seeking a Director of Animal Collections, as our General Curator, to lead our animal care department and represent the Zoo on local, national, and international animal care initiatives in support of our mission to connect people, animals, and the natural world to save wildlife. The position is a key member of the animal care, health and conservation division leadership team and is accountable for progressing the Zoo’s strategic priorities in animal care and welfare, conservation, nature education, and diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have an advanced degree in a related discipline AND seven years animal care experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) AND five years of experience in an animal management position overseeing supervisory staff in an accredited AZA or equivalent organization.
