Facts about this animal
It reaches about 37 mm in body size. The background color is dark brown, sometimes mixed with black. The sides are dirty-white, or slightly yellow. The coloration can vary from specimen to specimen. Yong frogs clearly differ from adults by their brightness of coloration, with much whiter color with dark-brown and grey spots.
Like Gordon’s Bug-eyed frog (T. gordoni) this species inhabits tree hollows, where one can find one adult male, plus several females and a number of immature young specimens. Clutches consist of 5-6 eggs which are deposited on the ground. Incubation time is 8-10 days, metamorphoses occurs after 56-70 days. The size of froglets is 10-12 mm.

Why do zoos keep this animal
Deforestation is the main threat for this species now, because Vietnam and other countries have a very fast economic development which goes together with the destruction of primary rainforest.
